In the early 1980’s there was a really great licensed product known at the Helmet Hat. The Helmet Hat was one of the most unique and innovative ideas in a time when sports licensed products were still growing as a retail force. The Helmet Hat featured the graphics of your favorite NFL team all over the top of the hat, just like the would look on the team’s helmet.

This Friday, Leaders will be releasing their “Chicago Leaders” in a “Hornets” colorway. Like all their fitteds, I’m sure they will sell out. Stay tuned for upcoming Leaders fitteds in the near future.

The second set of Freeman Transport fitted caps are on their way. Produced by master hat maker Brett Wiley (of Quintin,) the caps are constructed of American made wool flannel, lined in chambray, and decorated with white felt applique. Coming in black, grey, or navy, 30 of each color will be available beginning at the NYC Bicycle Film Festival’s Saturday street fair.
