The world was anticipating patiently for the September 9th 2009 launch event when new products were to be announced by Leica. Well at least the photography inclined were waiting and after many leaks of information we got what we had been waiting for, the M9 and X1 digital camera as an official release.

Two lenses, each with its own perspective and focal point, snap separate images, which are then combined digitally to—ostensibly—blow your freaking mind.

The rechargeable MiLi Pro—available September 2009—will feature quality built-in speakers, a mini-USB cable for syncing the device and the capability to display 640×480 high resolution images on any surface up to 40 inches large.

Panasonic and Olympus agreement to share a common format for interchangeable lenses last August was big news. Resulting firstly in the Lumix DMC-G1. This coming July will see the release of Olympus’ first camera built with this arrangement in mind. While detailed specs, model name and price are still yet to be revealed, what we do know is that this camera looks great, functions like a compact digital but is compatible with DSLR lenses.
